the Fretwork Regulator clock

An Heirloom Woods original design.  This is a more formal looking clock with a scrolled dial that “floats” in the case. The fretwork on top of the front glass follows the curvature of the dial to frame it above, as well as the fretwork below to follow the swing of the pendulum.  Side panels feature fretwork corners with a contrasting backer, and compound cut finials visually extend through the bottom shelf in line with the front stiles. The depth of the case accommodates a chiming quartz movement with a removable speaker mounted remotely for better sound quality.  This was my entry in the 2009 Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Best Project Design Contest which earned an Honorable Mention in the Traditional Fretwork category.
